Can you hear the surf and feel the salt spray? As a wandering nature photographer, I often return to the same places over and over again. Coronado Sate Beach is one of the places I return to often. There is this rock jetty there that was placed to help protect the Hotel Del Coronado’s beachfront from the relentless Pacific Ocean surf. On this day, the waves were cresting the rocks, the sky was a beautiful cast of blue, there was a crisp feeling of Fall in the air, and there was an intense sense of serenity.
Prints of this scene are available at my online gallery:

Surf Shack and Waves at Wind and Sea
This spot is an historic site where returning World War II Veterans built the first sea shack here to use as shelter during their surfing adventures. Though it has been rebuilt many times, it is considered a sacred spot by many surfers.
