This skim boarder looks longingly out to sea as he awaits the perfect wave to pull him out from the shore to meet the next wave that will provide him an exhilarating ride back to shore. As I watched him, I realized the similarity of the constant pull I feel to return to this spot time and time again to take photographs. I visit here different times of the day, different times of the year, in different light situations and every time I feel the pull to return again to this spot by the sea. La Jolla, CA is called the Jewel of the Pacific and I can certainly understand why. Is it on your “bucket list?”

Surf Shack and Waves at Wind and Sea
This spot is an historic site where returning World War II Veterans built the first sea shack here to use as shelter during their surfing adventures. Though it has been rebuilt many times, it is considered a sacred spot by many surfers.
