Some of the places I photograph are very close to my heart. This is one of my favorite trails at Point Lobos State Reserve along the Big Sur Coast in California. I loved the way the sunlight had highlighted the shape of this beautiful tree and how the dappled light fell along the trail. I have always been fascinated with trails like this because they invite the soul to wander and contemplate.

Surf Shack and Waves at Wind and Sea
This spot is an historic site where returning World War II Veterans built the first sea shack here to use as shelter during their surfing adventures. Though it has been rebuilt many times, it is considered a sacred spot by many surfers.
