Adult Great Grey Owls are the tallest owl species at 2 feet tall. Their bowl shaped face acts to focus their hearing so they can hear their prey even under several feet of snow. Gloria photographed this one a special event sponsored by the Teton Raptor Center. This owl lives there after suffering a broken wing which prevents it from hunting.
